A Funny Moment with our Daughter

So the radio station we listen to in the morning has started playing Christmas music. This morning they were playing The Little Drummer Boy and it got to the chorus - "Pah-Rum-Pah-Pom-Pom." Katherine's eyes go real big.

She said "He even gets a Christmas song!"

Of course, I had no idea what she meant. So I asked who it was that got a Christmas song.

"Listen mom," she said, as it got to the chorus again, "Barak O-ba-ma. Barak O-ba-ma. Barak O-ba-ma."

I'm trying real hard not to laugh.

"I didn't know you got a Christmas song just for getting voted President," she said in obvious awe as she went back to her cereal. "That's the coolest part," she declared.

Too funny!!

Sarah's Halloween Book

Sarah just published her first book on Amazon.com!

Check out my write up here.

Same Sex Marriage

There are some things that are very controversial.
The issue of making same sex marriage legal is one of them.

The best treatice on the subject I have ever seen is, "The Divine Institution of Marriage" written by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I recommend it to anyone.
 - I love the sections on tolerance and how same sex marriage would affect society.

John's Manness

Sarah just told me an awesome story about what John did last night.

She said, 'John comes in from cleaning his room and he doesn't have a shirt on...
And he says, "Sorry about the no shirt, thing. I didn't want my muscles to get too hot."'

That about says it all. Nice.

Blogs of Friends

Just recently, I found out that many of my friends and family have blogs. Today we found two of the blogs for college friends we have not seen in years! It was very nice.

There are many of our friends at church who have blogs as well. One family moved to the East Coast for college and we have been able to know some of what they are up to through their blog.

It is not as good as being right there, but it is great to see what our friends and family are doing.

Suffering

In our sacrament meeting today I heard a quote that I will paraphrase here. I liked it very much.

Sometime in the eternities, we will find out that our trials were calculated to turn us to the Lord for help.
