Sarah's New Book - My Favorite So Far
My beautiful and authorily-blessed wife Sarah has published her book on Amazon.com.
It isn't the first book she has published (she published quite a few on lulu.com previously), but we are both excited about this one being published on Amazon because of the huge user base that Amazon has.
This last book; called, "The Price Paid" is a Ghost Story/Romance set in Whales during the Recency Era.
It is my favorite of her books so far! She has written some excellent books before, but I like this one the best because it is so hard to figure out the ending. Anyone who has read a couple of romance books (I don't read a lot of them mind you, actually just Sarah's, but she does read a lot of the clean ones and she has given me the lowdown) knows that the plot is basically the same in all of them. Two people meet, their is something that comes between them, that something is resolved and then they are united and there is a happy ending. I love the plot line. Happy endings are my thing. But this one has such a perplexing twist that you have a really hard time figuring out the end.
Highly Recommended.

A Funny Moment with our Daughter
She said "He even gets a Christmas song!"
Of course, I had no idea what she meant. So I asked who it was that got a Christmas song.
"Listen mom," she said, as it got to the chorus again, "Barak O-ba-ma. Barak O-ba-ma. Barak O-ba-ma."
I'm trying real hard not to laugh.
"I didn't know you got a Christmas song just for getting voted President," she said in obvious awe as she went back to her cereal. "That's the coolest part," she declared.
Too funny!!

Sarah just published her first book on Amazon.com!
Check out my write up here.
Same Sex Marriage
There are some things that are very controversial.
The issue of making same sex marriage legal is one of them.
The best treatice on the subject I have ever seen is, "The Divine Institution of Marriage" written by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I recommend it to anyone.
- I love the sections on tolerance and how same sex marriage would affect society.

Blogs of Friends
There are many of our friends at church who have blogs as well. One family moved to the East Coast for college and we have been able to know some of what they are up to through their blog.
It is not as good as being right there, but it is great to see what our friends and family are doing.
Suffering
Sometime in the eternities, we will find out that our trials were calculated to turn us to the Lord for help.
Jonathan's Primary Talk
Here is the talk that he made up with Sarah's help and gave today.
"Heavenly Father wants us to share the Gospel with others. When Jesus lived on the earth, he told his apostles that they needed to teach the Gospel. He wants us to share the Gospel, too.
When you're sharing the Gospel, you're being a missionary. My Uncle Sam is on a mission in Indiana. He is teaching a lot of people about Jesus and about the Gospel. Our family prays every day for the people he is teaching.
You can be a missionary by telling what you believe in and being a good example.
Last year in school, someone in my class asked about what Mormons believe. Her dad had told her that Mormons are not Christian. That means that they didn't think we believe in Jesus. I told her that we do believe in Jesus. There were other kids at the table who are members of our church and we all got to tell her that we believe in Jesus Christ. We were being missionaries. So can you.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

Love
"In 1840 the Prophet Joseph sent an epistle to the Twelve wherein he taught that 'love is one of the chief characteristics of Deity, and ought to be manifested by those who aspire to be the sons of God. A man filled with the love of God, is not content with blessing his family alone, but ranges through the whole world, anxious to bless the whole human race'
(History of the Church, 5: 227).
"As we reach out in love to those around us, we fulfill the other half of the great commandment to 'love thy neighbour as thyself' (Galatians 5:14)."
Topics:
love, goals, blessings, discipleship, compassion, service
